2019: Plateau Police Command Deploys 2050 Officers, Men for Buhari’s Visit

The Nigeria Police, Plateau State Command has deployed two thousand and fifty (2050) Police officers and men to provide security for President Muhammadu Buhari and his campaign team as the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential campaign holds in Jos, the state capital, today.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Tyopev Matthias Terna today, Saturday in a statement sent to the CityMirrorNews.
He said the Police is aimed at providing a water-tight security in order to achieve a successful and peaceful event and to also keep the entire State peaceful and conducive for all law abiding citizens in the state.
He noted that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Austin I. Agbonlahor fdc, psc, will serve as the overall commander of today’s operation.
Tyopev said, “The break down of the personnel is; One hundred and thirty two (132)officers, four hundred and thirty nine (439) Inspectors, one thousand four hundred and twelve (1412) Rank and File and sixty seven (67) Traffic Wardens making the sum total above.
“The Operation is divided into sectors and units. Sectors are headed by Assistant Commissioners of Police while the Units are manned by Chief Superintendents and Superintendents of Police. While the Deputy Commissioners of Police are to act as supervisors. The Commissioner of Police on the other hand is the over all Commander of today’s operation.”
The Command called on law abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses and, “warned anybody planning evil to shelve his or her intention because our men are all out and ready as such, no such intention would be allowed to manifest.” The statement noted.
President Buhari’s campaign team is expected in the tin city any moment from now as the city has worn a new look with thousand’s of supporters on the streets which has caused heavy traffic in the city.
