LAUTECH Alumni Stakeholders Seek Urgent Intervention Of Owner States To Avert Crisis

Stakeholders in the Alumni of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso have appealed to the two owner states to urgently release subventions to proffer lasting solutions to the lingering crisis facing the institution.

In a resolution after a stakeholders meeting of LAUTECH Alumni in Osogbo on Thursday, the group called on the two states house of assemblies to legislate for monthly subventions to aid the smooth running of the institution.

The Alumni stakeholders also appealed to the governments of Oyo and Osun to adhere to the existing funding structure by releasing subventions to the ivory tower as efforts are on to proffer lasting solutions.

The stakeholders also stressed that neither of the owner states have committed any capital project to the university in the last 8 years.

“That we, the Alumni, observed that in the last 8 years, neither of the two owner states have committed any capital project to the institution.”

Part of the resolutions also include; “In light of the foregoing, we hereby appeal to staffers, students and the host communities of the institution to stay calm and let normalcy return.”

“We as Alumni of Ladoke Akintola University frowned at an assemblage of unknown persons posing as concerned Alumni, we state clearly that there is nothing like concerned Alumni. No individual or group of people can be concerned than us. However any individual or group of people who wants to benefit from the crisis by toiling with the future of over 30,000 Ladokites through frivolous press conference, protests and agitations that is calpabe of truncating the peaceful resolutions of the crisis will have the Alumni association to contend with.”

The stakeholders also hinted that “We condemn in totality the act of impersonation ,gross irresponsibility and indiscipline exhibited by some faceless groups.”

“LAUTECH is our pride and that any individual member of our Alma Mater should not make LAUTECH a laughing stock in the comity of universities.”
