Honourable Izam Felicitates with Plateau Councillorship Forum

The new leadership of the Councillorship Forum in Plateau state has been sworn-in.

Congratulating the Leaders, under the Chairmanship of Hon. Silas Agwom, who is a Councilor representing Fobur B West of Jos East Local Government Area, the Leader of the Legislative arm of Jos East Local Government Council, Hon. Ibrahim Izam congratulated the new leadership and tasked them to see their offices as a medium to interact with their people at the grassroots and attract dividends of democracy for them through lobbying and operate open-door policies.

The inauguration was held at the Hill Station Hotel in Jos.

In his admonition, the ALGON Chairman of Plateau State, Hon. Ezekiel Volgap said the task before them is a challenging one and advice them to carry their colleagues and other critical stakeholders along and seek advice from them, especially on critical issues. He urged them to remain focused and should always seek the face of God.

In his speech, the Forum’s Chairman, Hon.Silas Agwom said, “I appreciate my colleagues for giving me the opportunity to lead them in the state level. Our aims and objectives are to give the best and bring dividends of democracy to our people at the grassroots. It is my responsibility, as a chairman and other EXCOs to ensure peace and sanity among our members in all the seventeen Local governments of Plateau state, especially, the good relationship between the executive and legislative arm is maintained.”

The occasion was chaired by Hon. Pam Dung Gyang who was represented by Hon. Richard Alex. He reminded the Councilors to collectively sponsor a bill to the state House of Assembly that has a direct bearing on the lives of Plateau state citizens.

He encouraged them to disregard party differences, religious and ethnic affiliations and work for the progress of Plateau state.

The oath of office was administered by Barrister Daniel Emmanuel.
