DPR Seals Four Fuel Stations For Operating Without Licences In Ondo

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Ondo state, on Tuesday sealed four filling stations in the state for operating without licence.
Mr. Onaji Anthony, the Head of Operations of the department who led other team disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Akure, Ondo state capital.
Mr Anthony identified the sealed station as ROAR OIL and cooking gas, Prema petrol station, NNPC Alagbaka and Heroes Choice filling stations, all in Akure.
He said that these filling stations were sealed because they were operating without DPR licence.
Anthony also said two of the sealed stations were dealt with for under dispensing which means according to him that the consumers are paying more and receiving less while the owner is being gained.
According to him, the owner of the two sealed stations operating without licence are to pay 2.5million naira each while other two filling stations to pay N200,000 each as fine four under dispensing charges.
He said the surveillance and enforcement on filling stations was a continuous exercise saying it would serve as deterrent to others.
Anthony also revealed that Dapo gas station along Oda road Akure have been sealed by the officials of the department for transferring gas from one cylinder to other which he said is against the petroleum regulations.
DPR Head of Operations however warned filling stations operating without a licence or under dispensing in the state to immediately desist from the act or face sanctions.
