AGF Congratulates Bisi Akande At 80

By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo

A group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF) has joined all members of APC in congratulating a former Governor of Osun state, Chief Bisi Akande on his 80th Birthday.
In a statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Olateju Olorungbebe Adunni, AGF felicitated with family and friends of the party stalwart on the occasion of celebrating the numerous blessings of God on his life.
The group saluted the octogenarian for the arduous leadership roles he had taken up to make life better for his community, the nation and humanity.
Describing Chief Akande as a man of honour and integrity, AGF said million of youths have tapped from his political wealth of experience.
The statement read, “We members of the Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation wish to express our gratitude to God Almighty for sparing the live of our Baba. Baba’s political sagacity has helped in moving our noble party forward.”
“Youths and the entire nation will share in baba’s rare wisdom, insights and purposeful foresight as always demonstrated in his interventions and counselling on national issues.”
“This high principled leader, Bisi Akande, stood and still stands as a father figure and mentor to many younger politicians across the country particularly in the South-West; because of his traits as an exemplary leader and mentor, many call him Baba awon omo ke ke ke, meaning the political father of the younger ones who come after him.
“AGF affirms that Chief Akande’s contributions to the founding and nurturing of historical political institutions, like Unity Party of Nigeria, Alliance for Democracy, Action Congress of Nigeria, and the governing party, APC, were major steps and sacrifices in ensuring a sustainable democracy for Nigeria that generations will recall and remain grateful for.
“He is a man of honour and integrity. In private and public life, he has led by example; highly incorruptible, bold, brave and courageous; self-disciplined, loyal to the progressive cause and shunning avarice and tendency towards primitive accumulation, which has become the hallmark of political life.
“The group prays that the almighty God will continue to sustain Chief Akande in good health, strength and wisdom to serve his community, state and country.”
