Oyo APC Guber Candidate Floored Again, Jubilation In Ibadan

The anxiety that gripped members and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State over the verdict of Governorship Election Petition Tribunal eased out on Monday as the petition of Chief Adebayo Adelabu,the APC governorship candidate was thrown out.
There was wild jubilation by chieftains and members of PdP when the Tribunal Chairman held that the petition ofof APC lacked merit in its entirety
Justice Sirajo Mohammed held that Engineer Oluseyi Makinde was validly elected in compliance with electoral law.
The judge held that the petition of Adelabu lacked merit all things considered.
He said that his grouse was not in compliance with electoral law.
Makinde who scored 515,621 votes against that of Adelabu’s357,982 during the March 9 governorship election was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission as the winner.
Meanwhile,the leadership of PDP has described the judgement as representing the wish of the residents of the state.
Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha,the state Chairman of the party commended Justice Mohammed for upholding the confidence of the masses on the judiciary regarding the judgement.
There has been no indication of any appeal by the APC leaderst against the verdict as at press time.
