Armed Forces Remembrance Day: LG Chairman Applauds Fallen Heroes

The Chairman Irewole North East Local Council Development Area ( LCDA), Honourable Opeyemi Adeboye on Tuesday commended the Nigerian army particularly , the fallen heroes for putting up a hug sacrifice for the nation.
He gave the commendation at an event to mark this year armed forces remembrance day, held at palace square Oja Ale Ikire, organized by the council boss in honour of the fallen heroes.
Speaking at the event, Adeboye said it was a huge thanks to God for giving Nigeria, men and women who were ready to obey the call to fight, and if needed, to die for their fatherland.
“We are grateful that they were faithful to the cause, they did not betray the trust of millions, they gave up all the comfort of life and the love and affection of family that we may enjoy the same.
The chairman said if not for the sacrifice and commitments of the Nigerian soldiers, there wouldn’t have be a country called Nigeria.
He assured them of government readiness under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to rise to their needs, promising to also give priority to their welfare.
Welcoming dignitaries, Corps commander and Chairman Nigerian legion, Irewole local government and Irewole North East LCDA Commander Adedokun Adegbite give glory to God for making the day a reality.
Appreciating the participants for deemed it necessary to partake in this year armed forces remembrance day, Commander Adegbite charged people on the need not to neglect the widows, children and relatives of the fallen heroes.
He noted that they had sacrificed a lot in the course of defending Nigeria autonomy which resulted to various degree of injuries and deaths to some of them.
He, however, appreciated the support of the local government to the legion’s welfare and also pledged their support to the administration.
The occasion witness the presence of His Royal Highness Oba Olatunde Falabi, Prince Adeboye Opeyemi Chairman Irewole North East LCDA, Prince Layiwola Falabi a retired Colonel and Religious leaders. Heads of security agencies were not left out.
The highlights of the programmes was the laying of wreath by Hon Adeboye Opeyemi and other dignitaries present at the event
