Again Gunmen Abduct 3 Children, Kill 2 In Abuja
Gunmen believed to be kidnappers, on Tuesday morning, kidnapped three children and killed two people at Yebu village in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
One of the witnesses, Ayuba Danlami, told the Nigerian Tribune that the abductors invaded the community in large number with sophisticated weapons, and attacked one of the houses, killing two natives of the village and whisked away three children from the same family.
He explained that the victims in their attempt to escape through the back of the houses to alert neighbours, made the gunmen standing outside the compound open fire on them killing two persons on the spot.
According to him, “in fact, we could not sleep last night due to the sound of gunshots which caused panic all over the village, as the two deceased persons attempted to escape through the back door, one of the kidnappers opened fire on them.”
When contacted on phone, the Chairman of the Area Council, Mr Danladi Chiya, confirmed the abduction of three children and killing of two persons.
He said among the two persons killed, one of them was an All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter in the area, saying he could not sleep when he received the call of the attack at midnight.
“I am in tears as I speak to you, as one of my APC supporters was killed at the village by the gunmen. And I want to call on security agents to intensify effort to fish out those behind the attack at Yebu village, ” he lamented.
He then called on the authorities concerned too, as matter of urgency, come to the aid of the people, appealing to the people to continue to be law-abiding citizens, as the government would continue to do everything humanly possible to see to the end of armed bandits in the area.
