2019: Get Your PVC cards- Oranmiyan DG Charges Residents
By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The Director General of the Sociocultural organisation, Oranmiyan group, Mr Olajide Sadiq on Tuesday urged residents of Osun state to quickly pick their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) in preparation for the next month general elections.
The DG, in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital implored the people to take advantage of the PVC distribution exercise which would begin in the state tomorrow.
Recalled that the Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, had disclosed that the commission has concluded arrangement to take PVCs to the rural areas for collection by their owners, stating that the collection would take place between Wednesday 16 and Monday 21st January.
He advised those that are yet to collect their PVCs to utilise the opportunity optimally, insisting that only those with PVCs would be allowed to participate in the elections.
He however appealed to residents to support All Progressives Congress (APC) and cast their vote for President Muhammad Buhari in the next month elections.
“Osun people must prove to Nigerians that they are ready to develop common political culture towards the next month elections.
“It is on record that the people of the state have been consistently and relentlessly supported the APC, while the party on its part has been living up to its expectation without blemish.
“We have in the last eight years experienced a type of governance in which all interests have been integrated for all round development, in which the incumbent governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has since followed suit.
“APC government is known for running administrations that give priority to welfare of citizens, good governance and even development, with utmost consciousness for rule of law, constitutional democracy, and all inclusive governance.
“We must also be united regardless of our political parties and ideological differences to allow President Buhari to take the country to the next level of development.
“The need for continuity of APC in power becomes imperative in the face of yearning of Nigerians for the completion of array of developmental projects across the country.
“In view of this , I want to appeal to those who are yet to collect their Permanent voter cards to go to the designated location provided by INEC and pick up their PVCs so as not to be disenfranchised, as we give kudos to INEC for the grace of five working days giving to our people to partake in the exercise”, he said.
