The development, it was gathered had pitched Oyetola and Aregbesola into two camps and their aides had been complaining over the development.

Some of the aides who worked with Aregbesola during his eight years tenure have pitched their tents with Governor Oyetola for refusing Aregbesola to take control of the party in the state noting that most problems confronting the party in the state were caused during Aregbesola’s terms.

The current crisis worsen when Aregbesola insisted that Prince Adegboyega Famodun, the State Chairman of APC under him should not be allowed second term in office in the spirit of fairness and equity because he hail from same senatorial district with Governor Oyetola, Osun Central but Oyetola insisted on him, Famodun.

Famodun and Aregbesola, it would be recalled perfected the emergence of Oyetola as APC candidate in 2018.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of APC, who also doubles as the party’s state secretary, Alhaji Rasaq Salinsile has called on the top hierarchy and elder caucus of the party in the State to zone the state chairmanship position of the party to the west senatorial district in the forthcoming state congress of the ruling party in the spirit of equity, fairness and justice.

Salinsile said various intrigues characterising the upcoming State congress of the party called for serious concern.

The APC Scribe said the issue of major positions in both the government and the party has always been spread across the senatorial districts and that such practices is not restricted to Osun alone, but also obtainable in virtually all the states of the federation and even at the national level.

The Iwo born politician made reference to the constitution which emphasizes that positions should not be concentrated somewhere but should be spread across the available geopolitical zones or district as the case may be for fairness and justice.

In his words, “the issue of Chairmanship, Governorship and Speakership are always rotated between the senatorial districts, the central has gotten the governorship, the east would have the speaker by our arrangement, now the Chairmanship of the party and the Governor all come from same senatorial district – central, he concluded that, it is never done”.

The APC Secretary, recalled the intrigues that happened during the last year’s gubernatorial primary of the party that produced Governor Gboyega Oyetola and how himself and the incumbent Chairman, Prince Adegboyega Famodun, were dismissed by their colleagues in the State Working Committee because of their resolve to work for the emergence of Oyetola as the flag bearer of the party.

” That is to tell you how much support I gave Governor Oyetola and the party in order to ensure that our party remain united to fight the monster call PDP, which we did successfully.
