Osun NAWOJ Honours Egbemode, Akiyode-Afolabi, Akinjiola, Others

Prominent Nigerians, who have impacted positively on the well being of women, children and vulnerable in the society are to be honoured during this year’s Osun NAWOJ Merit Award programme.

According to a release jointly signed by the Chairperson and Secretary of the association, Mrs Motunrayo Ayegbayo and Mrs Florence Babasola respectively, the event is to serve as an encouragement for the awardees.

Besides, former chairpersons who have steered the ship of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) in Osun State would be given Certificate of Recognition at the event.

Listed for awards at the event scheduled to hold on Saturday, 13th April, 2019 at Leisure Spring Hotel, Iwo/Ibadan Road, Osogbo; are the President, Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mrs. Olufunke Egbemode, Coordinator, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Center (WARDC), Mrs. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, the Director-General, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs Adejumoke Akijiola.

Others are; Iyalode of Akintonwa town in Oyo State, Chief (Mrs) Busayo Olowoojuomo, Honourable Taiwo Oluga, Revd Tunde Kajogbola, Hon Musbaudeen Olanrewaju, Mrs. Funmilayo Abdullahi, Otunba Olusola Olaofe and Mrs Abosede-Abokede.

Wife of the governor, State of Osun, Alhaja Kafayat Oyetola is expected as the Mother of the Day, while the Deputy-Governor, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi is the Father of the day. The Vice Chancellor, Adeleke University, Professor Dayo Alao is the Chairman of the occasion, while Otunba Grace Titi-Laoye Tomori will be the chairperson.

Royal fathers of the day are Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Oba Oyeyode Oyesosin and Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin. Others expected at the event which will start by 11:am include the Osun NUJ chairman, Comrade Kehinde Ayantunji, Honourable Bola Oyebamiji, Honourable Adelani Baderinwa and a host of others.
