Just In: Government Begins Rehabilitation Of Osogbo-Iwo Road
In fulfilment of Governor Gboyega Oyetola electioneering promise on the dilapidated state of Osogbo Iwo road, the Federal Government through the Ministry of Works and Housing in collaboration with the State Government of Osun have this morning commenced the rehabilitation of the 56km road.
The reconstruction which started at the Dele Yes Sir axis of Osogbo saw the contractor, officials of the Federal ministry of works and housing and their state counterparts, headed by the Supervisor, Engr. Remi Omowaiye controlling & diverting traffic, as notable indigenes of Iwo were also physically present, among who are the immediate past commissioner for special duties, Hon. Mudasiru Toogun, four Chairmen from Iwo and Ayedire areas, namely Hon. Raji Kamoru Abiodun, Hon. Ezekiel Adedibu Adeyemo, Hon. Adeboye Mukaila Oladejo & Hon. Olufemi Idowu of Iwo LG, Iwo West LCDA, Ayedire LG and Ayedire LCDA respectively. The highly revered monarch of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Makama who was on his way to Osogbo alighted from his car to shower encomium on the governor, and offered prayers to God for more successes during his tenure.
Speaking to residents, commuters and okada riders at the project site, Supervisor in charge of the ministry of works & transportation in Osun, Remi Omowaiye assured citizens to expect more positive wonders of infrastructure and economic development from the Oyetola administration, like you know, mr. Governor is not a man of too many words, whatever he says or promises, he is committed to its realization and implementation in good time.
In the last nine months, our government has rehabilitated inter township roads in twelve local governments, spread across nine major towns and cities, Oyetola has also mobilized back to sites, contractors handling the Gbongan – Ode Omu – Akoda road (RATCOM), Osogbo – Ikirun – Ilaodo Kwara boundary (SAMMYA) and the Osogbo Circular, Oba Adesoji Aderemi road (SLAVA YEDITIPE), and take this from me, we are at the verge of starting the second phase of rehabilitating inter township roads, Omowaiye emphasized.
Members of the NURTW, RTEAN and passengers said they were surprised at this wonderful intervention by Governor Oyetola, they were seen in their hundreds singing praises of IleriOluwa and prayed for sustainable development, peace and progress for the state of Osun.
