Governor Makinde Solicits the Support of Oyo Assembly in Moving the State Forward

The Oyo state Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has solicited the support of Oyo State House of Assembly in moving the state to enviable heights.

Governor Makinde stated this at the Inauguration of the 9th Oyo Assembly held at the House of Assembly complex, Agodi, Ibadan.

The Governor who was at the Assembly to Issue a proclamation for the holding of the first session of the House of Assembly in accordance with section 105 subsection 3 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

Governor Makinde in his address at the plenary, emphasised the need for the lawmakers to shun partisan politics and work collectively for the progress of the state.

The Number One citizen of Oyo state said the government under his watch will ensure effective collaboration between the executive and the legislature for the advancement of the state.

Makinde explained that he’s committed to making Oyo state the preferred Investment destination in Nigeria, hence, the need for Oyo state Investment Promotion Agency (OYSIPA) Bill 2019 with an Intension to promote, facilitate and Coordinate Investment in the state through public-private partnership

The Governor also told the legislators that his administration will establish Oyo state Financial Crimes Commission Bill 2019 to ensure transparency and accountability in both state and private sector and work with the police in Oyo state to reduce economic and financial crimes to the barest minimum.

In his remarks, The Speaker Oyo state House of Assembly, Right Hon Adebo Ogundoyin in moving the state forward, explained that the 9th Oyo Assembly will intensify efforts at making a law that would have a positive impact on the lives of people.

Other Principal officers of the 9th Assembly are Muhammed Fadeyi Deputy Speaker, Sanjo Adedoyin Majority leader, Asimiyu Alarape Minority leader, Akeem Adedibu, Chief Whip and Yusuff Adebisi emerge as Deputy chief whip.
