Eid-el-Kabir: NSCDC Assures Hitch-Free Celebration, Deploys 1,500 Personnel In Ondo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Ondo State Command has deployed 1,500 personnel to fight against criminal activities and in order to enhance an hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday by the command Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Olufemi Omole and signed by state Commandant, Mrs Christiana Abiakam-Omanu in Akure.

Abiakam-Omanu said that the command would go extra miles to carry out surveillance and intelligence gathering to arrest and prosecute whosoever was found culpable of any criminal offence against the law during and after the celebration.

According to her, for effective service delivery of command mandate in protection of lives and properties both operational vehicles and men will be on constant patrol to ensure a peaceful Sallah celebration.

She said command would continue to synergize and collaborate with other security agencies to make the State serene and habitable

The commandant charged all officers and men in command to double their efforts in the areas of safeguarding all critical national assets and infrastructure, crime detection, intelligence and information gathering especially during this eid- el- kabir celebration.

“All security apparatus must be proactive and gather intelligence to nip in the bud any perpetrator of criminal activities such as vandalism of government critical national assets, oil theft, kidnapping, community unrest among others.

” It is now beckon on the respective stakeholders and the general public to make it a point of duty by giving prompt and useful information on individuals who are in the habit of disrupting the peace and security of the State,” she said.

She, therefore, warned all those in the habit of perpetrating crimes especially by taking advantage of the festive period to desist from such unscrupulous act or encounter the wrath of the law.

The commandant also enjoined all parents and guardians to refrain their wards from aimless wandering, intoxication, drug abuse and other traits that could trigger social unrest, restiveness and indulgence in criminal tendencies.
