Ansarudeen Missioner, Professor Oladosu To Celebrates Afonta 40th Anniversary With Colloquium

To celebrate the 40 years of the existence of Zumratul Soliheen Institute of Arabic and Islamic Research, Afonta, Osogbo, State of Osun, the founder and renowned Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Abdul Wahab Banni Afonta and the Institute anniversary committee have lined up public lecture on national security and colloquium as part of a week anniversary programmes.

The institute was established in 1979 as evening Arabic Class before it expanded to a diploma awarding Arabic institute with affiliations to Al Azar University, Cairo, Egypt and Amandu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria.

A Statement by the Chairman Anniversary Planning Committee Alhaji Ganiyu Oyeladun said that the one week anniversary will commence on Sunday, September 8, 2019, with endurance trek in honour of the founder from Afonta to Oke –fia Odi Olowo , Isale Osun and to be terminated at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Pack, Osogbo.

On Sunday evening, after a Press Conference, Sheik Abdulmumeen Ayara, will also deliver a public lecture on ‘’ The Essence of Propagation of Islam from Prophet Adam to Prophet Muhammed, Link to Sheikh Abdul Wahab Banni Afontata Sojourn to Osogbo 40 Years Ago in Propagation of Islam.

Chief Imam of Federal Polytechnic Ede, Dr Taofeek Adekunle will also on Monday evening deliver a lecture on ‘’ The Benefit of Visiting the Orphanage/Less Privilege and Alms Giving to the Poor: The Islamic Perspective’’ after the committee’s visit to orphanage home and Prison Yard in the Morning.

The statement said the Students of Zumratul Soliheen and other invited Arabic and Islamic centres will participate in Quran Competitions on Tuesday, display of Talent on Wednesday, and another public lecture on Wednesday evening to be deliver by Sheikh AdulRasheed Abdul-jabbar.

Thursday, September 12, 2019 would mark the peak of the anniversary with Islamic Colloquium on ‘’Insecurity in Nigeria: Islamic Perspective’’ with lectures to be delivered by Sheikh AbdulRahman Addullai (Al Korowy), Sheikh AbdulRahman Ahmad, National Missioner Ansarudeen and Professor AbdulAfees Oladosu of the University of Ilorin.

Oyeladun explained that the ceremony would future a special Jumat service on Friday and Turbaning Ceremony of Imams and dinner with the founder, Sheikh Abdul Wahab Banni Afonta, with grand finale, award ceremony and conferment of Chieftaincy tittle on some dignities on Saturday.

He called on the members of the public to participate in the anniversary to celebrate the 40 years of endurance, hard work and determination of the founder to make Islamic education available anf affordable for the people.
