By Abiodun Ogunrinde, Ibadan
The Oyo State gubernatorial candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Barr Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has felicitated with the leader of the party, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja over his victory at the recent judgement delivered against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Lagos, saying it was a victory for democracy and the rule of law.
Ladoja who for the past ten years, has been standing trial over an alleged fraud of about four billion naira along with his former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Waheed Akanbi were discharged and acquitted of the eleven count charges preferred against them.
In a swift reaction, Barr Sharafadeen Alli, who was the Secretary to the state government in the same administration, said through his Media aide, Comrade Taiwo Ibrahim that those who laid siege on Ladoja can now bury their heads in shame.
Alli stated that he had known his leader, Ladoja over the decades as one who always stand by the truth and would never do anything to soil his image.
His victory, according to Alli, is another testimony that the government he ran in Oyo state between 2003 and 2007, together with those of us, his lieutenants, was that of the people and for the people alone and this is the more reason he stands out as he has been clamouring for good governance in the next dispensation.
Alli recalled that his records to put people, teachers, civil servants, traders, artisans in the the front burner of governance has not been rivalled since he left the saddle in 2007 and stressed that as a graduate from his school of political thoughts,he has reposed that confidence in him to reshape the socio economic and socio political system of Oyo State.
