Plateau Gospel Musicians Holds Inaugural Concert in Jos

The Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria, GOMAN, Plateau state chapter on Sunday held its inaugural concert at the Fellowship Baptist Church, Jos, Plateau state.
The barely five months old chapter assembled its members for the concert with the theme, “The Power of Praises and Miracles” with the text taken from Isaiah 12:5.
Speaking on reasons to praise God, Ms Liz David said that God arises and gives victory over enemies when we praise Him. She noted that “God commanded us to praise Him as found in Psalm 100:4” saying that praises facilitate access to God and promote productivity. She added that praises is an effective weapon of warfare. “God is worthy of out praise”, she stated.
In his welcome address, GOMAN Coordinator in the state, Mr Tope Alegbejo said that it was a dream come true.
He said, “We are happy that we are able to organise our inaugural concert in less than five months of formation of Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria, GOMAN, Plateau state Chapter.
“This concert is organised to announce to the world that we have come to stay in the state just like other states of the Federation.”
Alegbejo called on other gospel musicians in the state to join GOMAN so that the chapter can have a ‘common and united front’, saying that the group would continue to wax stronger.
He urged the congregation to purchase copies of their albums displayed at the venue.
In a brief exhortation by the guest speaker, Pastor Oye Olumide urged gospel singers to serve without a siren.
“Don’t abandon your duty post. Don’t preach self in your ministry. Don’t serve to please human being but Jesus.”
In various sessions of Ministration Galore, members of the Association who performed different genres of music included, Tope Alegbejo (Tope Lead), Liz David (Omo Majemu), Tope Falusi, DMT Martinie, Gabriel Adetutu (God of Elijah), Ope Olaleye, Evangelist Kayode Alofe (Grace of God), and Sister Priscilla Richards.
Other performers were Omolayo Olaniyan (Je n re re Je), Sister Atinuke Obanawu (Gbope Mi), Pastor Owolabi, Olajide (J. Success) and Deji among others.
Dignitaries at the event included Shepherd Ogunleye A, Prof and Mrs Olorunfemi, Snr Apostle Prophet Olosho, Baba Kebe, Deaconess Idowu Adewole, Pastor Omoshuyi, and Evangelist John Ayanfe among others.
