2023: Why Yoruba Deserve To Produce Next President – Group
A group, Nigeria Next Level Forum has declared that the Yoruba deserve to produce the Next President of the country in 2023.
This declaration was made at the group’s South west meeting in Osogbo on Thursday, where a decision was reached to draw templates based on 16 Pillars upon which the group based the development of the country.
The pillars include, knowledge based education for innovation science and technology and artificial intelligence as engine for growth, agriculture and agro-business, energy, power, oil and gas, Iron and steel, infrastructure, empowerment, leadership, trade and investment, health and environment and fiscal restructured among others.
Chairman of the Forum, Barrister Oladosu Oladipo said, the group has taken up the responsibility of reviewing the challenges facing the country and design templates for the Next Level development.
According to him, a workable template would be designed, presented to the President, leadership of National Assembly, ministers and other stakeholders on how to move the country forward.
“Yoruba people deserve the Next presidency and they should be accorded. We want somebody that is talented and knowledgeable that will implement the template that we are working on.
“While we appreciate the ongoing development, under the present administration, we must device ways on how to further move forward.
“However, the person that will implement this template must be from Yorubaland and must have the talent, intelligence and capacity to carry out the development plan starting from 2023”.
The state Coordinator of the group, Hon Gafar Amere said, the target is on 2023 presidency, but the Forum is focusing more on the prosperity of the Next Level agenda towards the country’s development.
“For you to move forward in the development of this country, there must be plans drawn to achieve that goal and that is the essence of this Forum.
“The Forum will gathered the views of various stakeholders towards guaranteeing development starting from 2023”, Amere said.
Other Speaker at the meeting, including the Southwest Coordinator of the group, Dr Ajibola Salami said Yoruba must produced the Next President because they have worked for it and deserve it.
