Cabinet Formation: Oyetola Shuts Door Against ‘Two-Term’ Commissioners, SAs
By Segun Ojo-Oluwabayo, Ilesa
Former commissioners and Special Advisers who worked with former governor Rauf Aregbesola in Osun state will not be appointed into Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s cabinet, it was learnt.
Governor Oyetola has reportedly made it clear to the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state that he would not like to reappoint anybody that served in the first and second term of Aregbesola’s cabinet.
CityMirrorNews reliably gathered that except for Prof Olalekan Yinusa, who was a Special Adviser and later commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in Aregbesola’s second term, and one other person, none of the ‘two-term’ former cabinet members would make Oyetola’s commissioners and special advisers list.
Those who served under Aregbesola for two terms that are eyeing reappointment include: Barr Kolapo Alimi, Kola Omotunde Young, Biyi Odunlade, Ismaila Jayeoba Alagbada, Mudasiru Toogun, and two other people.
Alimi, a former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs might be replaced with Barr Jare Adebisi who is the immediate past Special Adviser, Governors Office. Adebisi is currently supervising Alimi’s former ministry.
Also, Young might be replaced with Barr Folorunso Bamisayemi, a former Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Education. He is a two-term lawmaker from Ife.
According to reliable sources at the Government House , Alagbada is likely to lose his ambition to a woman politician known as Ogunfolaju in his federal constituency.
As at the time of filing this report, Governor Oyetola is still consulting on few individuals to be appointed or not into his cabinet.
