Buhari Assures Of Adequate Security If Re-elected
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
President Mohammadu Buhari has promised to provide adequate security for the safety of lives and property if voted back to office on February 16, 2019.
Speaking at the All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Akure on Tuesday, Buhari said, a vote for APC candidates in the coming election is a vote for adequate security and an end to corruption which has been ravaging the economy of the nation.
According to him, the fight against corruption should be a collective one, adding that every Nigerian owes it a duty to put the economy back on a healthy track.
He urged the electorates to vote for APC and ensure that those he described as “looters” do not continue to perpetrate their looting spree if they come back to power,
Earlier in his address, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi urged party chieftains in Ondo state to close their ranks and unite to win the coming elections.
He expressed surprise at the rate they engage in scuffle with one another when they were expected to collectively fight their opponents, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP.)
His words, “I was in PDP as a Governor for eight years and I know what it is to be in power, if you lose the coming elections, you better stay in your state and don’t come to Abuja”.
Also, the National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu noted that this was the time to cage the likes of the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who he described as ” master rigger”.
He further urged the people to use their Permanent Voters Cards PVCs wisely, cast their votes and stand by it to ensure that it is counted before leaving the polling booths.
Similarly, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu assured that APC will win the coming elections handsomely, adding that the people of the state are ever ready to give the President 100 percent of their votes.
