Supreme Court Verdict: Osun Speaker, Owoeye Rejoices With Oyetola, APC
….Says It’s Time To Unite, Move Osun Forward
The Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye has congratulated the Governor of the State, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, and the entire members of the All Progressives Congress over the just recorded victory at the Supreme Court of Nigeria which upheld the election of Gboyega Oyetola as the duly elected Governor in the September 2018 governorship election of the state.
The Speaker made this known in a congratulatory press statement personally signed by him and released to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital today. He described the judgment as a confirmation of the people’s mandate which was freely given to Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress in the last year September governorship election in the State.
Rt. Hon. Owoeye commended the Supreme Court panel headed by the Acting Chief Justice of the Federation, Hon. Justice, Ibrahim Tanko Ibrahim, for their braveness and uprightness in the face of intimidation and campaign of calumny earlier embarked upon by the opposition party to get favourable judgment from the apex court.
In the same vein, the Ijesha-born politician gave kudos to the legal team of the trio of the All Progressives Congress, Independent National Electoral Commission and that of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for the thorough job and sacrifice they put into the governorship legal fireworks while it lasted.
The seasoned parliamentarian also acknowledged the wonderful roles played by the trio of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Baba Bisi Akande and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for being a defensible 5-Star general throughout the struggle.
Owoeye reiterated the readiness of the state parliament under his leadership to work with Governor Gboyega Oyetola through far-reaching reforms, resolutions and laws that would aid the developmental agenda of his government.
He, however, appealed to the people of the state including the opposition party to forget the fallout that trailed the gubernatorial election which has ended with the Supreme court verdict and collaborate with the Government of Gboyega Oyetola to move Osun to enviable height.
