Insecurity: Gowon, Prayer Warriors To Pray For Nigeria In Osun

Perturbed by security challenges currently facing the country, former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), will on Saturday storm Osogbo, Osun state capital for a two day prayer.
Gowon, who is the Chairman, Nigeria Prays would lead thousands of prayer warriors to draw up sufficient prayers and outcry for the nation which is undergoing testy times.
Rev Mike Adebomi, Osun State Coordinator, Nigeria Prays, stated this while addressing a press conference, on Monday, in Osogbo.
He added that the programmes are billed to hold on Saturday 10th August, at 4:30 at Covenant of Peace Redemption Power Ministry, by Osun Bridge , Owode, Ilesa Roads, Osogbo and Sunday 11th August, at All Saints Cathedral, Balogun Agoro , Osogbo are expected to be graced by all Christian traditional monarchs across the state .
Expected at the programmes is the Executive Governor of Osun state , Mr Gboyega Oyetola who according to him would host other five governors from the southern states of the country.
Adebomi who described prayer as a formidable weapon that can solve the nation’s many challenges better and faster, saying Nigeria would have divided if not for peoples’ fervent prayer.
He said Chairman, Nigeria Prays organized the prayer in the South-West Zone with the theme ” Partner in Advancing The Nation”
He further explained that the prayer campaign, which had gone round the country in the last 23 years, is spearheaded by Gowon.
According to Osun Coordinator, Nigeria Prays, ” It is the longest campaign in Nigeria to mobilise people for regular, fervent and result-oriented prayers for the healing and transformation of the country. General Gowon started this since 1996.
“Nigeria Prays’ is also a project aimed at promoting the virtues of patriotism, transparency, integrity and incorruptibility in leadership, governance and in the entire citizenry. The prayer becomes imperative because of the current security economic challenges.
He further said that what men cannot achieve through human efforts, he can always be accomplished when the redeemed of the Lord pray unto Him for succor and for divine intervention.
