Exultation As Oyetola Defeats Adeleke At Supreme Court
There was wild jubilation across Osun State on Friday, as the Supreme Court in Abuja declared Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as the winner of September 22 gubernatorial election in the state.
It would be recalled the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke had challenged the verdict of an appellate court of May 9, which declared Oyetola as the winner of the contest.
Recall that the election tribunal on March 23 ruled in favour of Adeleke as the winner of the contest, making it imperative for Oyetola and the APC to contest the judgement at the Appeal court.
Meanwhile, hundreds of APC faithful as well as well wishers on Friday besieged major cities in the state to celebrate the legal triumph.
Our Correspondents observed a large crowd of APC members in Osogbo, the state capital, as well as Ikirun, Ile-ife, Gbongan, Iwo among others, dancing and expressing profound joy over the development.
