Appeal Court Affirms Yusuf Gagdi Election

The Court of Appeal sitting in Jos, Plateau state capital, today, Monday, affirmed the ruling of the House of Representatives Election Petition Tribunal for Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam Federal Constituency.
The Court affirmed the election of Honourable Yusuf Gagdi of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and dismissed the appeal filed by Honourable Timothy Golu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Delivering the judgement, Justice Ukechukwu Onyemenam declared that the appeal lacked merit and thereby dismissed it.
In his reaction, the Director-General of the Yusuf Gagdi Campaign Organisation stated that it was a victory for democracy saying that the representative would concentrate on his job now.
He stressed further that Gagdi would work with everyone including the opposition party for effective representation in the National Assembly.
