Anglican Bursar Shot Dead By Armed Robbers In Akure

The bursar of the Akure Anglican Diocese in Ondo State, Mr. Gabriel Kolawole Abiodun was in the early hours of Thursday shot dead by unknown armed robbers.
It was gathered that the armed robbers trailed the bursar to his office shortly after leaving the bank premises and collected the over five hundred thousand from him leaving him in his pool of blood.
According to an eyewitness account, the robbers who were three in number road in a Toyota Corolla and shot him as soon as he entered his office.
When our correspondent visited the scene, stains of blood was found littering the premises right from within and outside the office.
Further investigations revealed that the bandits sped off as soon as they collected the money from the deceased.
Commenting on the saddenning incident, the Assistant Bishop Administrative, Venerable Blessing Aregbesola described the incident as shocking and very unfortunate, adding that the issue of insecurity in Nigeria is becoming embarrassing.
His words, “for someone to go to bank around 8:30 and within just 30minutes he was gunned down in broad day light means that nobody is safe”
The incident was however confirmed by the Ondo state police image maker, Mr Femi Joseph who pleaded with the members of the public to seek assistance of security operatives whenever they were moving huge some of money from one place to another.
He assured that the police would get the hoodlums in no distance time.
