National Task Force Canvasses Establishment Of The Force As Govt Agency
National task force wants senate to ratify the act aimed at establishing the organization as agency of government.
The director of National task force in Osun state, evangelist Maltida Farinde stated this in Osogbo during an interview with journalists after meeting of men and officers of the force.
Evangelist Farinde who noted that the bill for the establishment of the organization as agency had passed through second reading urged them to urgently pass the bill in the interest of national security and peaceful coexistence.
She said the organization was a regional organization established by economic council of west African States ECOWAS to mop up illegal and small arms and light ammunition from the region.
The state director noted that government needed to absorb the organization into its agencies especially at this trying period of insecurity in the nation,saying the organization had the potential to stem the tide of insecurity in the country.
Evangelist Farinde called on relevant stakeholders and security agencies to support the organization in its quest to compliment the its efforts to restore permanent peace to the country.
The state director lauded the director general of the force,Mr Emanuel Osita Okereke for his ingenuity ,perseverance, commitment and dedication to the actualization of the dream of making the organization an agency of government
Speaking the state public relations officers of the national task force in Osun state ,Mr Lijofi Victor said the mandate of the organization was to free the nation’s from danger inherent in the possession of illegal arms and ammunition.
Mr victor called on the national assembly to look into the benefits embedded in the organization and fast track its absorption as government agency.
He expressed optimism that if the organization was given to compliment the nation security architecture it would go a long way to curb insecurity in the country.
On his part,the state monitoring officer of national task force in Osun state, Mr Adeniyi Bamidele said the organization had the potential of reducing unemployment among teem youth look for employment in the country hence the need for federal government to adopt the organization as its agency.
Mr Bamidele noted that the organization was keen to the promotion of peaceful coexistence and society free of crisis.
He urged federal government to show more commitment to yearnings and aspirations of Nigerian youth so as to engage them in productive activities.
