Osun Gov Election: APC Confident Of Victory As Members Embark On Fervent Prayer
As the Supreme Court sets to deliver judgment on the appeal filed by candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the September 22, 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke against the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have expressed confidence that the expected verdict of the apex court will be in their favour.
Besides, APC members in Ifelodun Local Government of the state, on Tuesday worked in support of their confidence as they organized an interdenominational prayer to pray for a favourable judgment of the Supreme Court.
Muslims and Christians clerics were called by the APC members to lead them in victory prayers.
The APC members led by their chairman, Mr Zacchaeus Agboola, said they believed that Governor Oyetola and the APC have a good case before the apex court, but would still call on God to direct the judges to the right path of giving their party victory.
According to Agboola, every situation, either good or bad, requires prayer to strengthen the good or change the bad situation, saying that the APC though very optimistic, but still need to seek the face of God on the pending judgment.
Speaking at the prayer session, a former commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Mr Adelani Baderinwa urged APC members to disregard the purported celebration of PDP members, describing it as hopeless and deceitful.
Baderinwa who is now the Supervisor of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, stated that Governor Oyetola and APC are sure of victory because of the merit of the case before the apex court and the fact that they won the September 22 and 27 governorship election in the first place.
He assured members of the APC that the Supreme Court verdict would be favourable and will finally put an end to the false hope, insinuations and drama of the PDP on the matter.
In her address, the lawmaker representing Ifelodun Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon Dr Mulikat Adeola averred that if the rule of law and merit of the case is anything to go by, Governor Oyetola and APC will not lose at the Supreme Court.
Adeola said the APC members were not losing sleep and remained confident of victory at the apex court, maintaining that Governor Oyetola would surely complete his four years term.
