Ilesha Outage: IBEDC Commences Replacement Of Damaged Equipments
As part of effort and commitment to restore power to Ilesa Township, the Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has embarked on the replacement of damaged equipment at Oke- Omiru Injection Sub-Station in Ilesa, Osun state
Mrs Angela Olanrewaju, Head, Branding and Corporate Communication, Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, disclosed this in a statement she signed and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the replacement works will involve installation of all the damaged panels, outdoor breakers and other infrastructure at the Oke- Omiru Injection Sub-Station servicing Ireti Ayo, Ilaje and Palace Areas within Ilesa Township.
It further explained that the equipment required for the replacement exercise arrived at Oke Omiru injection substation on the evening of June 26th, 2019 and the technical team had since began with the installation of the equipment deployed for replacement of the damaged ones.
Meanwhile, some parts of Ilesa which can be powered by Imo and Ilerin injection substations have since been energized temporarily since June 18th, 2019.
It will be recalled that the Chief Operating Officer, Engr. John Ayodele at an event had said that the management has ordered the major equipment required to rehabilitate the Oke -Omiru Injection substation that was damaged during the massive destruction and carnage that occurred at Ilesha.
IBEDC appealed to customers in Ilesha to immediately commence payment of the huge outstanding bill of three billion, six hundred and ninety-nine million, one hundred and forty-two thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven naira seven kobo (N 3,699,142,127.7 billion) to further facilitate the repairs occasioned by the unfortunate violent protests that destroyed infrastructure worth over Two hundred million naira (N 200,000,000 million) at Oke- Omiru injection substation.
