APC Planning To Cause Mayhem In Ogbomoso, Oke- Ogun, Other PDP Strongholds – Makinde
By Abiodun Ogunrinde
The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr Seyi Makinde, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly planning to cause mayhem in Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, Oke Ogun and other PDP strongholds ahead of next Saturday’s election.
The PDP candidate also said the ruling party was
planning an inconclusive gubernatorial election in
the state as was done in Osun State.
In a release signed by his campaign spokesman,
Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said some
members of the National Union of Road Transport
Workers (NURTW) who he claimed had started
harassing market men and women, had been
mobilised to cause mayhem in PDP strongholds,
which include areas in Ogbomoso, Ibadan, Ibarapa
and Oke-Ogun.
According to him, selected card readers that will
not function will be deployed to these areas to
decimate the PDP votes as it was done in some
southern states last Saturday.
But Seyi Makinde assured the people that their votes would count in the end and he would still win the election convincingly.
He asked the people to troop out to vote and urged the security agencies and INEC to be unbiased umpires.
