Oke Remains Architect Of Violence, Murky Politics In Obokun/ Oriade, Olamiju Insists
The candidate of All progressives Congress, APC, in Obokun/ Oriade Federal constituency, Dr Siji Olamiju on Friday insisted that a member of House of Representatives , currently representing the consistency, Hon. Wole Oke was the brain behind violent political activities in the area.
He alleged that Oke became more violent and desperate having noticed his waning political influence and popularity amongst the constituents, and as a result heating up the polity.
Olamiju, in a press release made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital further accused Oke of embarking on covert recruitment of hoodlums to unleash terror on innocent electorate with the sole aim of intimidating them to coercion.
The APC candidate boasted of having the majority of the electorate on his side, saying the Tuesday’s rally, which was truncated by “PDP’s thugs ” allegedly on the payroll of Oke was a pointer to his popularity in the area with a huge turnout of people.
According to him, the the violent attacks on his supporters and campaign vehicles was done out of envy and apprehension of his rising political popularity.
“The political atmosphere in this constituency has been charged by the violent orientation of the PDP, especially the member of the House of Representatives in the constituency, Hon. Wole Oke.
” We were taken aback by the turn of events in our constituency, where this supposedly lawmaker is running foul of the law by recruiting cultists across campuses to ignite chaos.
“I continue to wonder when political popularity of a politician and party becomes a crime; the PDP is taking this too far, they are polarising our sleepy and peaceful environment, and this must not continue.
“I am again calling on the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu to quickly look into the matter in our constituency and quickly call Wole Oke to order,” the statement read.
