Osun 2018: US Reaffirms Believe In A Free, Fair Election, As Envoy Visits APC Candidate, Oyetola
The America government has again expressed the believe that the upcoming September 22nd 2018 governorship poll in Osun state would be credible, free and fair
This was stated in Osogbo, the Osun Capital when the US Ambassador to Nigeria Mr Stuart Symington visited the All Progressives Congress Governorship Candidate, Mr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola in his Campaign Office on Wednesday.
In a statement by the Gboyega Oyetola Campaign Organisation which was signed by its Spokesperson Dayo Fasola, the Ambassador was quoted as saying the US and the international Community are following keenly all proceedings before, during and after the upcoming elections.
“It is a great honour to be here once again at the Gboyega Oyetola Campaign Organisation. And to meet with the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Isiaka Oyetola. It is extraordinarily important for indigene of this place to ensure they Support as all International Community are doing. Because they are the first and major Stakeholders,
He added further “It is critical for them to know that anyone who isnt from this state shouldnt have a candidate, they should only play supportive roles, because in the end it would be just them and their generation next, they should break no branches but ensure they build bridges for a better future. Because this applies not just to upcoming Osun elections but the entire Nigeria hence why Osun’s trend is critical. We would all be watching with great keen interest that this goes peacefully and fairly’ He concluded.
Speaking, the APC candidate, Oyetola said that he is happy that Governor Rauf Aregbesola and his party, the APC’s commitment the to peaceful process is evident to all. He believes the Peace which Osun State is known for would endure at all times’
