Police/Butchers Clash: Oyo Govt Shuts Bodija Market
The Oyo State Government has shut down Bodija market for security reasons.
This is an aftermath of the sporadic shooting which occurred earlier today in the market and its environs.

The chairman of Aare Laatosa LCDA, Adekunle Oladeji said the closure was to prevent the loss of lives and property of the citizenry.
It is also to guard against the escalation of the violence in the market to other parts of the state.
Violence had erupted in the market as security agents and butchers clashed over the relocation of the abattoir from the market to Amosun Village in Akinyele local government.
Butchers in the city have been protesting against the relocation of abattoir in the city’s markets to a central one at Amosun Village, Akinyele Local Govenment Area.
