Group To Launch ‘Wole Oke Beyond 2019’
A sociopolitical group in Ijesa North Federal Constituency of Osun state, called ‘Obokun-Oriade Youth Front,’ has pledged its readiness to launch a movement tagged “Wole Oke Beyond 2019”, as parts of strategies to ensure that the incumbent lawmaker representing the Constituency in House of Representatives, Hon. Wole Oke, is returned to Green Chamber come 2019.
The group said it’s position is hinged on resolve to avert return of misadventure of the year 2011 to 2015, when no impact of the representation the constituency had in the House of Representative was felt by the constituents.
Rising from a meeting held at Ijebu Jesa during the weekend, the group in a statement signed by its convener, Mr. Famuyiwa Gbadebo, noted various life changing undertaken of Mr. Wole Oke targeted at the constituents and promised to ensure his save return to the House of Representatives in 2019.
The OYF said the constituency is used to occupying prominent position in the House of Representatives, owing to the fact that it has an experienced lawmaker representing it.
“We don’t want that to change anytime soon. His experience, exposure and longevity in the NASS is to our advantage. The misadventures of 2011 to 2015 must not be allowed again. We plan to retain Oke as our representative.
“Campaign has not commenced, but let me state that Oke is non partisan in his empowerment programmes. Evidences to the effect abound in all our towns in the Constituency.
“Today, Ijesa North has good representation in the Federal Civil Service courtesy of this man. Armed Forces Games Village is sitting pretty in our constituency. Simply put, we are the envy of other constituencies.
“We cant afford to reverse all these gains on the altar on petty politics, partially sighted, largely blind party loyalty. We have the best representation in Wole Oke. We hope to retain him beyond 2019”, the group concluded.
