Court Remands Men Over Alleged Car Theft In Osun

An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, the State Capital has on Wednesday ordered the remand of four accused persons in prison custody over alleged robbery and stealing of six Toyota Corolla car.
The four accused person were arraigned before Magistrate O. A Ayilara on nine count charges bothering on felony conspiracy to wit: Armed robbery stealing and possession of firearms.
The defendants includes Kehinde Badmus 43, Adeleke Timothy 40, Adekoodu Femi Rufus 40, and Adenle Olusola Babatunde 40.
The police prosecutor Inspector Idokoje James told the court that the four accused persons committed the offense between January 2015, December 13 and 24, 2017 at about 2.am at Aduragbemi in Ido-Osun.
Inspt James further explained that the accused person armed themselves with guns, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons with which they robbed Olufemi Ayoade of his Toyota Corolla wit REG NoAAA405BV valued 1.8 m.
The four accused person were also alleged of stealing five others Toyota Camry belonging to Nasiru Olanike Fatima, Bamidele Babatunde, Alao Abimbola, Azeez Dauda and Ayemoro Makanjuola.
The REG no of the Toyota CAMRIES are EKY982CK, GGE660DJ, GNN815AG EDT912AA, AND APP424AL.
Inspector James submitted that the offense committed contravene Section 6(b) punishable under Section 1(1), (2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms Special provision Act Cap RII Volume 14 laws of the of Nigeria 2004 and Section 516,383, (1) punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume 11.Laws of Osun State 2002.
The plea of the accused persons was not taken.
Ruling on the matter, Magistrate Ayilara ordered the four accused to be remanded due to the magnitude of the offense committed.
He also order the prosecutor to duplicate the case file to the department of public prosecution for legal advice.
The case was adjourned till April 4 for mention.
