The Eldest son of former military administrator of Niger state, AIG Simeon Oduoye, Kayode, said any aspirant thinking of running the state with only monthly allocation, should not bother to contest the governorship poll.

Kayode Oduoye, who visited PDP party secretariat along Ikirun road, Osogbo, amidst horde of his supporters, used the occasion to explain how he intends to revamp Osun economy, if elected governor.

He said Osun entered into technical recession in the year 2013, stressing that with the right approach, economy of the state can be revamped.

Oduoye explained that, while present loans taken by government can be renegotiated, he however added that many of the loans already procured by the present administration were taken without due process.

“Osun’s economy is in coma. It will take beyond merely renegotiating the loans taken by Aregbesola’s administration to revive the economy.

“Whoever does not have other plans of raising funds to run government apart from monthly allocation, should not bother to contest. It goes beyond that. We will renegotiate loans already taken, and investigate all the loans taken because with the facts available to me, many loans were taken without due process.

“I have experience as a businessman on how to successfully run business. I am going to leverage on all I have learnt over the years in private sector to govern Osun. I have the energy, I have the link and my generation is willing to take over mantle of leadership.

“Zoning is not expedient. Give the best man the job and we will all succeed. Aregbesola intended to kill PDP, but I didn’t spare anything in pulling together our party structure that was falling off at the time. We will do more, if supported to be governor of the state. With a united front, PDP will emerge victorious in the governorship poll,” Oduoye concluded.

Responding, the state PDP chairman, Mr. Soji Adagunodo, said the leadership of the party would be fair to all aspirants seeking its ticket.

He said none of the aspirant would be allowed to leave the party after governorship primaries, stressing that beside governorship, over 6,000 appointments would be available, if PDP wins the gubernatorial poll.

“Also, we assure everyone interested in PDP ticket of our cooperation and bias-free primaries. We are interested in keeping our house in order and that by the grace of God is what we will do,” Adagunodo concluded.
