Osun Lawmakers Advocate Unity At Christmas

Oṣùn state House of Assembly under the Leadership of Rt Honourable Najeem Salam wants Nigeria to celebrate in love and approach the new year with sense of hope.

In a statement by the Chairman House Committee on Information and Strategy Honourable Olatunbosun Oyintiloye notes that the assembly joins Nigerians in high sense of gratitude to God to celebrate the yelutide.

The Lawmakers points that the celebration which marks the birth of Christ is not only significant to Christian faith but one that offers hope to mankind

The Assembly stresses that the celebration which must be done in moderation should be accompanied with compassion and care for the needy.

The Parliamentarians note that the season should rekindle hope, pursuits of salvation and search for purity at the individual level as well as promotion of unity, oneness, togetherness, selflessness and high sense of patriotism from all Nigerians.

The statement further calls on Nigerians to embrace the virtue of peace, democratic values and nation-building as the country approaches elections in the coming year.

The lawmakers who emphasises on the need for all stakeholders in the election process to ensure that the election was violent free and reflects the true wishes of Nigerians, tasked political leaders to commit themselves to issue based campaingn, peace accord and lead their followers to eschew violence.

While re-affirming their commitment to assisting the less priviledge, community development and quality representation Oṣun parliamentarian stressed the need for security consciousness as people go about celebration the Christmas and New Year.

They express fervent hope that the outlook of the economy and the nation will get better as efforts by the present administration to reposition the country will yield more results especially on security, economy and job creation

The Assembly adds that there is the need for the priviledged members of the society to seek for ways to put smiles in faces of others especially at this time that the nation was coming out of recession.
