A Senior Special Assistant to Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Hon. Abidemi Gbenga Ogunkanmi, has urged all the 27 governorship aspirants contesting on the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to be of good conduct before and during the election in order to achieve the desired goals.

He also urged the people of the state to continue to remain law abiding citizens so as to encourage Governor Rauf Aregbesola to deliver on his promises on developing the state.

Ogunkanmi gave the charge while speaking to newsmen after the official announcement of the lifting of the ban on the political campaign of the APC for the governorship election slated to hold on September 22, this year.

Ogunkanmi who is the former Executive Secretary of Ayedire local government, enjoined the aspirants to work in line with the dictates of the party and shun any activities capable of causing violence before, during and after their routine visits to different parts of the State before the primaries.

He commended Governor Aregbesola on the infrastructural development in the state and urged whoever that emerge as the flag bearer to maintain the existing infrastructure and build new ones when elected.

“I want to appeal to all the 27 aspirants jostling for governor’s seat under the canopy of our great party to allow the peace and tranquility to take its stance during the electioneering process.

“I must first commend the revolutionary approach of Ogbeni Aregbesola in the area of infrastructural development.

“Look at his 10 kilometre per local government roads he initiated. I grew up in Osun and I know what used to be the standard of drainage system constructed in the past, as compared to the ones done by the government of Ogbeni.

“Many corners of the state where you could not expect to have tarred roads in the next 10 years have been taken to the future by his government.”
