Ife Business School Organises Business Empowerment Programme For Youth, Artisans
It was an eyes opener as the Hall of IFE Business School was filled to the brimmed with overflow as participants from all the nooks and crannies of Ifeland troop to the school located at Parakin for the business seminar.

Delivering his Lecture titled ‘BUILT TO LAST’ Dr. Gbenga Fayomi from Institute of Entrepreneurship Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife said business should be futuristic and not just plan or established for self alone or weave around the owner but should have succession plan.”
“Generating employment, add value, record keeping and consistency are the hallmark of business.”
In his lecture, Dr. Adebayo Adedokun, Lecturer, department of Economics, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife speaking on the topic: ‘WHAT MAKES BUSINESS DIFFERENT’ alluded that it is easier to lose money in business than to make money. Because, ‘creative thinking’ is all what business needs.”
“For you to be outstanding in the
same business doing by others, you must be unique and ready to meet customers/clients demands.”
He urged participants not to spend all the money made as profit but remove capital fixed yourself on salary so as to be accountable.”
Teaching the participants how to legitimise their business by registering it with Federal Government Agency saddled with business registration, Barr. (Mrs.)Theresa Omijie, zonal co-ordinator, Corporate Affairs Commissison, Osun State, said a lot of benefits always available for whosoever have their business registered.”
“They are entitled to government intervention from Bank of Industry (BoI); SMEDAN, Bank of Agriculture (BOA) and other agencies.”
“With a registered company, prospective clients would want to patronize you and it will give you leverage,” she said.
In his words, the zonal co-ordinator Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (SMEDAN) Mr. Udom Akpan said, “our slogan is think big but start small.”
“It is always good to have a large plan but start small and with consistency; you’ll build a brand that will be your identity.”

“Reeling his experience of how he navigated the storming water when there was no money to eat as a student of Economics in 80’s but now a key distributor of all the breweries in the country, Prince Like Gbadebo, CEO, Lexican Investment said he started this business as a student managing Students Union Building (SUB) bar at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.”

It would be recalled that IFE Business School, established in 2008 for executive education and short courses recently was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and Federal Ministry of Education to award national Diploma certificate in Business Management, Banking Operations, Financial and Insurance Management, Shipping Management and Transport and Logistics.
Appreciating theborganiser of the programme, Mr. Olawale Abiodun said, “before, I thought I knew how to operate business as I was getting the same result everytime, but with this, I’ve been equipped on how to go about my business to get outstanding result.”
He appreciate the management of IFE Business School for this seminar.
