2019: Indian Hemp Smoking Booms Sahara Reporters’ Publisher Declaration
The 2019 Presidential flag-off of the Publisher Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore at the Weekend in Edo state was almost taken over by persons who had taste for the consumption illicit drugs (Canabis Sativa) otherwise called Indian hemp.
The unpredictable move by the “weed smokers” became a cynosure of everyone at youth house, Akpakpava in Benin City where Mr. Sowore addressed a deluge of cheerful supporters.
At the town hall meeting with youths in Benin City, the Presidential aspirant, attempted to shift the base of ideas and trounced the All Progressives Congress (APC) led-Federal government which he claimed has performed below expectation.
Our CityMirrorNews reports that the state government is yet to domesticate the relevant laws prohibiting smoking in public places and tame administrative errors by young Nigerian adults seeking to quit the bad habit.
But, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of other youths who were mainly from tertiary students across the three Senatorial districts of the state who saw Sowore as a man who can repair the consequences of mistakes of past and present leaders in Nigeria.
It was learnt that some youths who were speculated to be suffering from allergies, approached shops within the complex for assistance.
Besides, scores of bouncers and armed security operatives who came with the online Publisher to the venue, could not curtail the obfuscating haze which confined some guests to perch on the windows for access to ventilation.
A director of Mr. Omoyele Sowore Campaign organization, regretted the action of the smokers.
He said the smokers “lacked discipline”.
