The Day Ayope Family In Apomu Hosts Traditional Rulers From Ile-Ife
The Family of Ayope in Apomu, Isokan Local Government Area of Osun State has shown interest in the position of the Alapomu, presenting a US based captain, Prince John Abayomi Olagbemi as their candidate.
The stool of the Alapomu became vacant following the death of the Oba AbdulAzeez Afolabi about for years ago.
Kings from the Awonbiogbon ruling house of Ile-Ife where the Ayope family is believed to have migrated before they finally stayed in Apomu.
The monarchs visitation to the Ayope family was a memorable one as members of the family trooped out enmasses to welcome them.
The mornachs held a meeting with the Prince and Princess of the Ayope family where the history on how their fore fathers migrated from the antient town of Ile-Ife before they chose Apomu as abode final abode.
The sons and daughters of the family after the meeting which lasted for about an hour moved in their hundrends to the residence of the regent of the leepy community, Alhaji Raimi Adekunle Lawal
Chairman of Ayope Solidarity forum, Alhaji Ajeigbe Adeshina on behalf of the family, while introducing the monarchs who came to visit the Ayope family from Awobiogbon family in Ile-Ife, where the Ayope was said to have migrated said the meeting was timely as issues borthering on the Apomu throne.
Adeshina stated that it was time for their family to get to the throne, adding that it was the Ayope family that first settled in the land 500 years ago.
He explained that the since 500 years, the community only had one king who died in 2013 which is why the family deemed it fit to get to the throne this time.
He thereby urged the entire family to continue to live in love and give their total support to the chosen candidate.
In their separate speeches, the Chairman of Ayope family, Mr Adejare Olukayode and a member of the family, Omolade Akinade expressed happiness that the family is about to restore it’s lost glory.
In his speech, the Osa of Apomu and the Alapomu regent, Chief Reimi Adekunle appreciated the visitors, praying that the desired person get to the throne.
