Osun 2018: I Will Dignify And Uphold APC Structure, If I Emerged- Saka-Layoni
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun and frontline aspirant in the Sept 22 gubernatorial election in the state, Dr. Ismail Abiodun Saka-Layonu SAN has vowed to dignify and uphold the party’s structure.
Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN made the pledge on Tuesday in Ifetedo, Ife South local government during his visit to Ife federal constituency in his consultative tours round the state.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria who was received by the leadership of the party in the area as led by Prince J. O Ologbenla expressed his joy over what he described as the unique loyalty of party leaders and members in the area which has spread to other parts of the state, urging that such gesture should be sustained.
While describing the APC as the only party of development, Saka-Layonu SAN vowed that he will in his own capacity continue to dignify the party and uphold its structure regardless of his aspiration, stating that ‘the Party is the parent of any democratically elected government globally’.
The Ede born politician promised that if he is voted to serve the State as Governor, his administration shall enable party members, Chieftains and stakeholders to function and operate effectively.
He noted that the outcome of the Party’s primary next month will further strengthen his membership and commitment to the growth of the Party no matter what it is, stressing that he will never consider leaving the Party or indulging in anti-party activities.
In his speech, APC leader, Ife South local government, Prince J. O Ologbenla expressed his joy over Dr. Saka-Layonu SAN’s kind words which he said have distinguished him as a genuine party man and a bridge builder.
Prince Ologbenla who was said to have been an active politician since 1956 joined his voice with that of those clamoring for Osun West Senatorial district to produce the next governor, praying that God in His infinite mercy will zone it to West.
In a like reaction chairman of the party in Ife South, Hon. Adebiyi Adebayo pointed out that Saka-Layonu SAN has more than enough qualities and qualifications required to govern the state of Osun, urging him not to forget the area in the consideration of vital appointments when elected into the highest political office in the state, adding that votes from the area hascl always been the strength of the entire Ife Federal constituency.
