Osun 2018: Ikire, Apomu Elders Opt For Finance Commissioner, Procure  Intention Form

Scores of elders in Ikire, and Apomu, in the Osun West Senatorial District, on Wednesday stormed the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat to procure intention form for the Commissioner for Finance, Bola Oyebanji, to contest the governorship election slated for September 22.

Leading hundreds of party loyalists from Ikire , Apomu, and other parts of Irewole Local Government area of the state, Chief Falana Muritala, the Aare Omo of Ikire  described Oyebanji as a man of integrity, maintained that the people of the area were vigorously rooting for him, with determination to support him to victory.

” We never informed him before taking this step just as in 1999, when  Chief Bisi Akande never had the intention of contesting, but his community pushed for him,  and gave him the needed support.

“We would only imploy the people of Osun to support Oyebanji, he is the only one that perfectly fit into the  shoe that would be left behind by the incumbent governor.

“He is  a technocrat,an honest man. For the whole community to have done this for him,  it means he is love by all”, he said.

Echoing similar view, Chief Abeeblahi Hassan who led people of Apomu community to the party secretariat, said the people of the sleepy community came to term on the move,  having done thorough investigation on each of the contestants vying for governor’s seat in the axis, saying they have decided to choose Oyebanji as their preferred candidate.

“We believe so much in Bola Oyebanji, he has been tested  to be competent, he has no any political blemish,  he has been an honest, loyal and even a man who is very passionate about the welfare of the people regardless of where you come from.

Another leader from the zone,  Alhaji Ganiyu Oyeladun said people in the communities believe so much in Oyebanji and they have vowed to support him to clinch the governorship seat come September 22.

Oyeladun who said Oyebanji had never thought of contesting the poll said he was only picked and persuaded to contest due to his pedigree and track records.

“He has been so humble, passionate about the welfare of the people regardless of religious or political affiliations, and this is a lesson we should all learn that whatever we are doing people  are watching us”, Oyeladun concluded
