Medical Experts Urge FG To Increase Allocation To Health Sector

Some Medical Experts in Nigeria and residents Of Obokun/Oriade federal constituency in Osun state are asking the federal to focus more on the state of the health sector in Nigeria.

This call was made at the flagg off of the Oluwole Oke Free medical outreach in Obokun Local government area of the state.

Hon Oluwole Oke is the federal Lawmaker representing Obokun /Oriade Federal Constituency at the Lower Chamber.

The free medical outreach is intended to cater for basic health issues like, Blood pressure check, malaria, Diabetes check and in major cases ,do a referral to designated teaching hospitals for further treatment.

The National Coordinator of the Health for all Fair, Dr Alubankudi Olamide said the need to meet the health challenges of the people bearing in mind the present economic crunch in the nation gave birth to the free medical treatment.

She said it is saddening that most public health hospitals are not well equipped to attend to the needs of the citizens even as she called on the federal and state governments to devote a large of the allocation to the health sector.

The National Vice coordinator of the programme, Dr Olusegun Daramola told the residents who trooped out in large number that they should try to do periodic checks at primary health care centers to know their status to be able to take care of any health challenge they might be diagnosed of early.

He called on the wealthy in the society to emulate Hon Wole Oke and see free health care for the less privileged as a way of giving back to the society to make an impact in peoples Lives.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to channelstelevision confesses that the free medical outreach is an eye opener that early detection of any ailment saves lives.

The program is expected to last for a week to allow for many indigenea to benefit from the Oluwole Oke Free medical outreach.
