Kwara Govt Says MSME Loan Is Not Political
The Kwara State Government has debunked the rumor that state’s Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) loan is politically motivated.
The Senior Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor, Dr Muideen Akorede disclosed this recently in Ilorin the state capital.
Dr Akorede said the MSME credit facility is meant for medium and small business owners to start or improve this business enterprise.
He added that over 60,000 entreprises have benefited to the tune of N2billion from the scheme from 2012 till date.
The Governor’s Media Aide said applicants are expected to submit viable business plan and convince personnel at the agency that they would be able to refund the loan.
Akorede revealed that nobody has been denied access to the credit facility because of party affiliation, therefore challenging people with contrary information to provide facts to support their claims rather than spreading hearsay.
Speaking on the issue, Kwara State APC Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulyman Buhari said beneficiaries of the loan cut across all political divide in the state.
Buhari advised Kwarans / residents who are business inclined to approach the agency in-charge of the scheme to get loan.
Kwara State Medium Small and Micro Enterprises Agency was established in 2012 to support small businesses in the state. The agency usually gives applicants N50,000-N500,000 loan based on their Business Plan.
Recall that Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed last year approved tax holiday for new businesses in the state.
