Ajimobi Other APC Governors, Shun Commissioning Of PMB’S Campaign Office Built In Ibadan By Adebayo Shittu

The crisis in the Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress ,(APC,) reached its climax in Ibadan on Saturday when Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his commissioners as well as his party members boycotted the commissioning of campaign office built by the Minister of Communication, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu for the second term aspiration of President Muhamadu Buhari.

Despite the publicity given to the events which started with book launch and later the commissioning of the complex,no governor of the ruling party invited to grace the occasion showed up at the University of Ibadan conference centre used for the book launch as well as the Office situated at Mokola area of Ibadan.

Observers believed that the incident was a confirmation of the cat and dog relationship between the duo of Governor Ajimobi and the Communication minister, Adebayo Shittu

Former Governor of Abia state Dr. Uzor Kalu, and Senator Kenneth Namani expressed surprise at the negative development which they described as dangerous for APC in the state.

Dr.Kalu in an emotion laden voice said “if both of them are quarreling there will be no peace and progress in the state.

“We are going to be fighting a very big party.A party that knows how to do it.We dont want to lose any vote in Oyo state. We dont want to lose any sympathy here”‘ he said

He assured that with the cooperation of the minister of health, Senator Namani and others,they would resolve the conflict between the governor and the minister in order to protect the fortune of APC during the coming elections

The minister thanked all those who turned up for the programme and assured that the president would be persuaded to recon test in order to complete his good work.

Meanwhile,a group called Saki Parapo, an area where Bayo comes from has called for an amicable settlement between the Minister and his people who he has taken to court over landed property meant to be used for the public and allegedly taken by the minister.

Addressing a press conference in Ibadan Friday, AlhJi Kasali Adepoju a former permanent Secretary in the state and Alhaji Kasali Adegoke the chairman of Saki Parapo said that they were not out to destroy the governorship aspiration of Bayo Shittu but would not support his idea of using his legal and political influence to take a land for public interest for his personal use.
