Police Parade Seven Crime Suspects In Ondo

The Ondo State Police command has arrested seven crime suspects involving in armed robbery in the state.

The suspects were paraded before newsmen yesterday at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters, Igbatoro road, Akure by the state Commissioner of Police, Gbenga Adeyanju.

According to Mr. Adeyanju, one of the suspects Bukola Adeoye A.K.A. ‘Agbara’ was among those suspects that escaped recently from SARS office, Akure.

Adeyanju said, “On the 17th day of July, 2018 at about 0900hrs, Detectives from Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Akure, received information that the escaped armed robbery suspects from SARS office, Akure, one Bukola Adeoye A.K.A. Agbara ‘m’ and one Rotimi Adeyeye ‘m’ were taking cover in the house of one Loveth Ogbu ‘f’.

“A team of detectives swooped on the said Loveth Ogbu ‘f’ and arrested her, on interrogation, she confessed that the escaped armed robbery suspects were in Ore. Based on the confession, Detectives mobilized to Ore and arrested one Felix Eteti ‘m’ age 27 years of Ebenezer Street, Sabo, Ore, who was a member of the gang”.

While parading the suspects, Adeyanju also said that on 18th July, 2018, at about 2pm, his detectives team received distress call from members of the public that robbers were operating at Sabo Area, Ore.

According to him, detectives trailed the robbers to Christ Foundation Primary School Ore, and on sighting the detectives, the robbers opened fire on them and during exchange of fire, one of the armed robbery suspects one Bukola Adeoye A.k.a Agbara sustained gunshot injury on his right.

The police boss however said that during the operation, ‘Agbara’ was rushed to the General Hospital Ore where he died few hours after being admitted.

He posited that, one Gbenga Babatimi (48) of Sabo Area Ore, who was earlier robbed by ‘Agbara’ and his gang the previous night, and thereafter went to the same hospital to treat the machete cuts inflicted on him by the robbers, quickly identified ‘Agbara’ as one of the robbers that attacked him.

Adeyanju, however, noted that the suspects will soon be arraigned in court and sounded a note of warning to criminally minded persons to either turn a new leaf or be made to face the wrath of the law if caught in the state.

Arms recovered from the suspects include, one cut to size gun, three cutlasses, one empty shell and four live cartridges.
