Police Arraign 48-Year-Old Woman for Alleged Fence Demolition, Theft

Osun State Police command, on Thursday arraigned a 48-year-old woman, Omotosho Grace before magistrate court in Osogbo over alleged malicious damage of 200,000 block property valued 450,000.

The defendant was docked before magistrate O.A Oloyade on six count charge bothering on conspiracy with others at large to commit felony and malicious damage.

The prosecutor, Inspector Olayiwola Rasaq told the court that the accused person destroyed the fence on a land on 9th April, 2018 at Olude area, off Ayekale Osogbo.

Rasaq further said that the defendant attempted to steal 2,000 blocks and damaged four survey pillars that valued N300,000, property of one Gafari Akorede.

He added that the defendant with others at large assaulted one Gafari Akorede, Tirimisiyu Saka and Tajudeen Ajia by using back of cutlass to maliciously beat them.

He said the defendant committed an offence contrary to section 383 and punishable under section 390,451 and 516 cap (9) of the criminal code cap 34 volume 11, law of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

The accused person pleaded not guilty on six count charge against him. His legal counsel, O.F Ije applied for bail of his client on most liberal term.

Delivering his ruling, Magistrate O. A Oloyade granted the accused bail in sum of N500,000 with three sureties in like sum.
She said that the police must investigate addresses of the three sureties before approval of the bail. The case was adjourned till June 7 for mentioning.
