Osun APC Elders Caucus Refutes Report Of Endorsing Candidate For NASS

Elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun state on Friday said they have not endorsed any candidate for the forthcoming National House of Representatives in February 2019.

The Odo-Otin APC elders were reacting to the purported endorsement of a particular candidate who recently visited the council area to express his political aspiration.

Refuting the purported endorsement, Oyelayo Oyebode said there has never been a time the elders caucus, among which he is a member, came out and gave the said candidate a pat on the back.

Oyebode who described the news allegedly aired on a state owned radio station as ruse said what they reported on the radio was very far from what actually happened at the event.

Confirming the meeting where the purported endorsement took place, the APC stalwart said they never endorsed any candidate.

According to him, “a meeting was held yesterday in Okuku where we all Elders were present but we never endorse any candidate”.

“We held meetings like we usually do for any aspirant but when the news break that we had endorsed Dr. Michael olugbile, we felt disappointed, Elders of Odo-otin want all people to know that we never endorse or choose anyone who will represent us in our Constituency”.

The 5-days awareness program were organize in other to sensitize voters in Inisa, Okuku Oye Ijabe and others on the need for them to get their Permanent Voter cards ready against the forthcoming gubernatorial election in September 22.

Alhaji Bello Adegeboyeba Basheer also declared his aspiration for 2019 House of Representatives under the platform of All Progressives Congress.
