OAU Loses Final Year Student

The Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state on Thursday lost a final year student, Abioye Yusuf Segun.
This was disclosed in a signed release made available to the public by the Public Relations Officers of Pharmaceutical Muslim Students Society Of Nigeria(PMSSN) and Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students, OAU Chapter.
According to the release, Late Abidoye Yusuf took ill on Monday and went to the health centre of the institution for medical care.
He was later transferred to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTHC) from where he was referred same day to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Ile-Ife.
He was however treated there until he died around 9am on Thursday May 17, 2018.
Reacting to the death of his colleague and friend, Drug Free Club President, Mr Akanmu Oluwasanya said, ‘’He exuded a unique strength I never knew where it came from. Always smiling and making others smile.
He further added that the loss of his friend is a void he doesn’t know how it will get filled.
Speaking with City Mirror News correspondent, the President of Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS), OAU Chapter, Mr Ojelabi Jesujoba, said the death came as a shock to the Ife pharmacy students at large as the late student was loved by students especially his efforts in the sporting life of pharmacy students.
The Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Erhun Wilson, confirmed that the interment of the late student would take place at the university cemetry by 4pm today, Friday according to Islamic rites.
