Twins Brother, One Other Remanded For Allegedly Organising Indian Hemp Carnival In Osun

The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned two siblings, Oladosu Taye (19) and Oladosu Kehinde (19) before an Osogbo magistrate court for allegedly organizing India hemp carnival with cultlass in a manner to cause terror in the neighborhood.
The two siblings was docked before Magistrate Olusegun Ayilara along side Muhammad Jamiyu 20 on four count-charge bearing on conspiracy, breach of peace illicit possession and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Jafani Muslim, told the court that the defendants and others at large committed the offense on April 13 ,at about 9:00 a.m.,along Sabo area, Osogbo.
Muslim said the defendants conspired among themselves to organised a cannabis sativa festival which led to the breach of peace within the environs.
He said the defendants were also paraded with three stolen motorcycles valued N 750,000 during the raid.
The Prosecutor said that the actions of the accused led to public disturbance before the intervention of the Police.
He explained that the offense contravened Sections 516(A), 249(D), 430(8) and 383 punishable under Section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11 , Laws of Osun, 2003.
The three accused person pleaded not guilty to the four count charges alleged against them by the police.
The Defense Counsel , Mr Okobie Najite, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal terms while the prosecutor objected the oral bail application made by defense counsel on the ground that the three accused has no place of abode and source of living.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusegun Ayilara, while ruling on the matter ignored the prosecutor objections and granted the three defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties each.
Ayilara said the sureties must be residents within the court jurisdiction with evidence of tax payments and two passports sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
One of the sureties must be a landed property and the case was later adjourned to Jun 1 for hearing.
The three accused were remanded in Ilesha prison custody when they could not perfect their bail conditions.
